Bondi Reveals Inquiry into Trump Adversaries and Jeffrey Epstein Ties

This past Friday, the Attorney General assigned interim US attorney Jay Clayton to oversee an inquiry into opponents of the President and their relationships with Jeffrey Epstein. This action came hours after Trump directed her to launch the probe.

In a statement, Bondi praised Jay Clayton as “among the nation’s top prosecutors”. The official added, “As with all matters, the department will pursue this with urgency and integrity to deliver answers to the American people.”

This development seems to diverge from a recent memorandum from justice department officials which stated that documents related to Epstein did not warrant further inquiries. As per the memo, authorities “found no proof justifying probes into uncharged individuals”

Trump Calls for Focus on Democrats in the Epstein Matter

The announcement comes as growing demands from the president on lawmakers to oppose the full release of files concerning Epstein before an key congressional decision next week. Several lawmakers are anticipated to back the disclosure.

Newly public communications from Epstein have highlighted Trump’s past involvement with the convicted criminal, including details that his knowledge of Epstein’s behavior exceeded prior admissions.

That same day, Trump announced he would direct the Department of Justice to examine connections between Epstein and Democratic figures, specifically naming prominent individuals such as Clinton, Summers, and Hoffman. Paradoxically, he also described the “Epstein situation” as a “scam”.
